There is far more to the Vibe and SP-1 than meets the eye. Even though they are are as inexpensive as entry level blowback markers, the Vibe and SP-1 outperform by an order of magnitude. By reducing and refining the electropneumatic systems that we have perfected in professional level paintball markers, our design team has radically raised the bar for performance, reliability and efficiency that is affordable to the first time p_layer_. While both new markers share the same internal structure and operating characteristics, each has its own unique flavor: the Vibe for the p_layer_ moving fast on the speedball field, and the SP-1 for the scenario p_layer_ in the woods.

These new videos clearly demonstrate the Smart Parts electropneumatic difference.

1. Some p_layer_s have expressed a concern about using an electronic marker in the woods, for fear that mud or rainwater might fry its electronics. Those fears are unfounded, and we demonstrate that by dry-firing an SP-1 underwater in a swimming pool, and then throwing one in a flowing stream of snow melt, taking it out and loading it with paint, then blasting a tree with a full-auto burst.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNjgS5zce2M - MOVING STREAM TEST

2. Both the Vibe and SP-1 are gentle on paint because they have an Extremely Low Force anti-chop bolt. In the beginning of its stroke, the Vibe/SP-1 bolt delivers so little force that it literally bounces off of a mis-fed paintball. In comparison, as we demonstrate by suspending a paintball half-way in the breech, blowback paintguns can chop through a paintball like a knife in a late-night infomercial. We also put our special cut-away SP-1 to the tongue test, made famous several years ago as a way to prove that a low-force bolt really is gentle.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuvBMccPWyw - TONGUE DEMO

3. In the Vibe and SP-1 recoil comparison Glenn Perry talks about Smart Parts advanced manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania that is used to build all of the company's machined parts. In a head-to-head demonstration, the SP-1 and two popular, similarly priced blow-back markers are fired with a glass of liquid mounted on their sight rails. How can you expect to shoot straight when your marker is trying to jump out of your hand?

4. Low-pressure electropneumatic efficiency is where the Vibe and SP-1 really shine. In a dramatic comparison, Sean Scott of the Smart Corps Factory Team puts a fresh 20-ounce anti-siphon CO2 tank on a popular "woods" blowback marker, and shoots it quickly, watching the velocity drop off and the tank chill until the marker can't even re-cock itself to fire. Immediately moving the tank to an SP-1, he fires 5 fresh pods of paint, more than doubling the capabilities of the blowback marker.

5. With the new Max-Flo R vertical regulator, the Vibe and SP-1 can achieve high-end electropneumatic performance even when powered by lower cost CO2, without fear of damaging internal components. Best performance on CO2 requires an optimized set-up, and in a four and a half-minute video, Sean Scott explains the dynamics of liquid CO2, as well as how to properly set-up the Vibe and SP-1 to use it.

6. Not only is Tim Montressor a professional tournament p_layer_ for the Philly Americans, and two-time national scenario champion with the Smart Corps Factory team, but he is also the field manager of the All-American Paintball Park, which will be host to the 2008 PSP Northeast Open. Tim shares his unique perspective on how the incredibly simple maintenance of the Vibe and SP-1 make a tremendous difference both as a p_layer_ who missed out on the finals when a complex blowback marker failed, and as a field operator who knows that savings on equipment repairs and labor add up quick.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-LSuaaecdo

7. Referenced in Tim's testimonials are a pair of additional videos in which factory tech Brandon Halula removes the entire bolt and valve system from a Vibe and SP-1 in a fraction of the time needed just to disassemble a competing blowback marker to perform the same maintenance. Because there are only 3 parts to the bolt and valve system of the Vibe and SP-1, there is no risk of losing small critical screws, pins or springs when performing maintenance in the staging area of a paintball field.

8. There are times in a scenario where a full-auto sweep across a charging squad is great, but there are also times where that single sniper shot is needed to maintain concealment. Unlike most multimode markers that leave a p_layer_ locked into a single firing mode, the new select-fire mode of the Vibe and SP-1 lets a p_layer_ choose on the field, or it can be locked into semi-only operation to meet tournament or field rules. In the Vibe & SP-1 Firing Modes video, Craig "Fatty" Daugherty explains how to set these new modes, and how early release Vibe and SP-1 markers can receive a free select fire upgrade.

9. The SP-1 is covered in tactical accessory rails and is ready for anything from red-dot sights and night-vision gear to lasers and tactical flashlights. If you've ever winced at the price of a tactical flashlight, then you are in for a pleasant surprise. In the SP-1 Flashlight Installation video Sean Scott explains how to use the SP-1's integrated flashlight mount to get tactical flashlight performance out of an inexpensive AA flashlight from your local hardware store.
